Quotes by our leaders-week 4

These were my some of my favorite quotes by Marian Wright Edelman:

·         “Parents have become so convinced educators know what is best for children that they forget that they themselves are really the experts.”

·         “No one, Eleanor Roosevelt said, can make you feel inferior without your consent. Never give it.”

·         “If we think we have ours and don't owe any time or money or effort to help those left behind, then we are a part of the problem rather than the solution to the fraying social fabric that threatens all Americans.”

·         “If you don't like the way the world is, you change it. You have an obligation to change it. You just do it one step at a time.”

These are some of my favorite quotes by President William J. Clinton:

·         "We must teach our children to resolve their conflicts with words, not weapons."

·         The price of doing the same old thing is far higher than the price of change

·         If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person.

·         When we give what we can and give it with joy, we don't just renew the American tradition of giving, we also renew ourselves

Below are the two persons from week 2 that I really related to. Beside their quotes, I put motivation, passion, or wisdom, to express how I felt.

Motivation-       Every day I go to work, I look forward to it because I know the services I am providing them are to their benefit.

Passion-              My passion comes from wanting to make a difference; I am not here to save the world, I am here to make a difference in the community I am working.

personal childhood web week 3

Creating at this blog really made me think about the persons who were there for me as a child. I had a wonderful childhood, filled with lots of memories, but at the same time it was not easy. These are the people who have made a biggest impact on my life as a child.

Doris Boseman-my mom- My mother is a very special person to me. My mom graduated form Lander University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. My mother is a dedicated, strong, hard working woman. Growing up she always wanted the very best for me and she always pushed me to my highest potential. My mom and I did not have the best relationship while I was growing up, but I always knew she loved me. She was also there when I needed her, and she always gave advice even when I did not ask. She is very outspoken, and tell you things just the way they are, just like me. When I look in them mirror, I see my mother in me. I aspire to be like her, but better. She never wants me to make the same mistakes as her, she wants me to be better than her. Our relationship today is great. I cherish the memories and moments we create together. I love her to death, she is my biggest supporter and cheering fan.

Tim Boseman- my dad- Words cannot express how much I love this guy. He has provided me so much to be thankful for. He is one of the reason why I am where I am. He supports me in every way possible even though he does not always agree. The relationship we share is like no other. I know I can always count him
whenever I need something. I love my dad for being that provider, protector, and friend my entire life. I am truly blessed. There is no love like that of father and daughter.

Larry Davis- my play uncle- I admire him so much. He is a second father figure to me. He is a retired educator with more than 35 years of teaching experience under his belt. He has accomplished so much being an educator, in fact he is the reason why I decided to go into this field. Seeing him help, and support me growing up, made me what to do the same for others. He has touched the lives of many, and I have learned so much from just being around him. He encourages me to live to my highest potential, and achieve greatness. Living life the way you want it, and defining your purpose/who you are is his motto. He has travel all over to world to places like Spain, England, Brazil, Asia, Mexico, Africa and more. Sitting down listening and talking to him gives me a lot of hope as a n educator. He has taught me alot about myself, that I never realized. He helps me correct my mistakes, and to create lasting journeys to my life. He had a rough life growing up, but when I look at him I see a strong man who has defeated many obstacles, and now he is reaping the benefits of his hard work.

Stephaine Walker- my godmother- She has been in my life since I was born. Her youngest daughter and I are best friends. Growing up, she has always treated me like one of her own children. Whenever thing got rough at home, or school I always knew I could count on Mrs. Walker to help. She was simply that person who I can share and talk about anything with. She was also that listening ear,and told me everything that I needed to hear. She has never judged me or my decisions, but has always encouraged me to follow my heart and dreams. She is my voice of reasoning, and I love her for being like my second mother!

Julius Boseman-my brother- My brother and I are six years apart. When I was born he was not very happy. We have the normal sister and brother relationship, with fighting, arguing, and control issues! He is very protective, loving, and caring. I do not tell him much, but I look up to my brother a lot. He has been there and done a lot for me through the years. Even when he is struggling he will stop and help me with my problems. I admire him for putting others first and staying true to himself. My brother is a fighter and will not fight until he can not fight anymore. The drive in him drives me to succeed. We have the best relationship now, in fact we talk everyday.
